Feathers & Frontiers

U.S. bureau of land management documentary film

This 41-minute documentary explores the history of polar icebreaking ships, dating back to their earliest use in the late 1800s and critical involvement in World War II.

Producing this film involved 20 interviews with retired sailors and subject-matter experts between the Pacific Northwest, New England, and Washington DC, in addition to an extended trip to the Arctic Circle aboard the USCGC Healy.
